Hydroelectric Generation

There is significant water flow in the area, this includes the Thames and at LME between some of the lakes such as Spinney Lake and Somerford Lagoon.

The visual and noise impacts would need careful consideration and consultation, together with a full hydrology evaluation.

Water flow is strongest in the winter, which makes it complementary to solar, which is stronger in the summer. However, it’s unclear if such seasonable flow would make hydro cost-effective – this will need to be considered as part of the feasibility.
